Rally in Support of Unaccompanied Youth to be held on Monday July 28 2014.
SEATTLE – El Comité, the May 1st Action Coalition, and social justice advocates will hold a rally in support of the unaccompanied youth arriving to the U.S. as refugees. Event details are as follows:
What: Rally in Support of Unaccompanied Youth.
Who: El Comité, the May 1st Action Coalition, and social justice advocates.
When: Monday July 28th, 2014. The event will begin at 3:00 pm, and will end at 7:00 pm.
Where: The rally will be held in front of the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building, at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Marion Street, downtown Seattle.
The rally and demonstration was called for as a means of showing support for the tens of thousands of unaccompanied youth that have arrived in the U.S. over the last year. Given the desperate conditions, including threats of imminent violence, poverty, and the absence of opportunities, that force these young people to flee their places of origin, we urge the Obama administration to issue an Executive Order to allow the young people to stay in the U.S. as refugees, and to defer action on Deportations for the 11+ Million undocumented people and their families.
EDUCATE, ORGANIZE, MOBILIZE.
